I was generally happy in Bath and all the facilities. I stayed in the YMCA & the Backpackers hostel and was impressed with both. I have also been to the Bath Univiersity & think very highly of the Uni & all it has to offer. Take the free walking tour of the city. It's free and they do a great job. The Abby is also free. the old Roman Bath tour is great and worth the money. Stay away from the Moraccan Restaurent. Bath is a nice town with a couple of interesting things to see. But it definitively does not deserve the publicity it gets. And £11 for the roman baths is a rip off. Bath was a lovely city maybe my favorite on this trip! Weather in July was REALLY warm. There is an excellent city tour provided for free by a group of elderly women who represent the city on a voluntary basis - well worth the time! The Roman Baths are an absolute must. I recently visited Bath on a whistlestop trip to the UK. What a fantastic place. Even with the hoards of tourists, it is a beautiful town, nestled around the Avon River. The roman baths are well worth a visit, but give yourself plenty of time, becasue there is plenty to look at - and don't...more I recently visited Bath on a whistlestop trip to the UK. What a fantastic place. Even with the hoards of tourists, it is a beautiful town, nestled around the Avon River. The roman baths are well worth a visit, but give yourself plenty of time, becasue there is plenty to look at - and don't forget to take the audio guide. It gives a great insight to Roman culture in roman Britain as well as the history of the baths over the centuries that followed. But don't just stick to the main tourist sights - take a good pair of walking shoes and strike out on foot. There are lots of grat spots to explore and beautiful vistas to discover away from the town centre - and you'll get a great cardio workout at the same time! For an insight into life of the upper class in Georgian England I'd recommend visiting No 1 The Royal Crescent. It's beautifully restored and the volunteer guides are a mine of information. For the foodies there are a great collection of artisan bakeries and delis, as well as Brisitsh Pubs and tea shops. Also pop into Sally Lunn'sat 4 North Parade Passage. There is a large menu, but for the authentic sally lunn bun, have it served with either cinnamon or brandy butter. Also check out the original bakery in the basement museum.close

    Breakfast was great. House is quite a long walk from the centre of Bath and the railway station, so if you have really heavy suitcases, a taxi might be a better option.

    Its very close to everything which is great! Open mic night was fun but the place is pretty old and it smelt mouldy in the rooms and the showers are pretty gross but i got over it

If the weather is nice, make sure you walk into town via the "scenic" route -- it is a delightful stroll with a great view of the city of bath!     Loved this YHA, one the the nicest ones i've stayed in (despite the very steep hill climb) and definitely heaps of character. Definately would, and already have, recommended it.

    It was a bit difficult finding where to check-in and the staff was not great about helping you find your room. It is also a fairly long bus ride to the centre. If you are staying for a longer time and really want quite and privacy this is a great place. If you want to party and be close to...
